Maximum HTTP request length

leave a comment »

Maximum supported length for a HTTP GET Request in IE is 2048. On the other hand a HTTP POST request does not almost have any restrictions on the length as it supports up to 2GB size of text for the content length. The primary usage of a GET request is to fetch data from the web server while the POST is used to submit data. Visit the W3Schools page to read more about the differences between a GET and POST request.
